I recently went on a trip with 2 of my very good friends to visit our friend who is in the Air Force. She is stationed at Langley AFB in Virginia. We live in Indiana so it was a good 12 hour drive. A long 12 hours! It was fun though; good music, great scenery, and time with my best friends. Once we got to Virginia, the fun really began. The four of us together passionately refer to our group as SCAR. It is an acronym for the first letters of our first names. A title who’s history began in an 8th grade science class. The name sounds rather tough, but don’t let that fool you. We are all decently kind people.
We hung out at the beach one day. The ocean was a blast. There were some fun waves and dolphins jumping out of the water not too far from shore. I hadn’t been to the ocean since I was little so it was exciting to enjoy Virginia Beach and the beautiful sun for the day.
We also made a trip to our nation’s capitol; Washington, DC. Being the history junkie that I am, I was absolutely enthralled by the entire city. The White House, The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, The Vietnam War Memorial, The Capitol Building…I could go on and on. Up until that day, DC was just a place I had read about or seen in the movies. To actually be walking the streets of the city was completely surreal. Needless to say, I enjoyed it a great deal.

Overall, the trip was wonderful. It is safe to say I have the greatest friends and am so lucky to have them. They always have my back and for that, I am deeply appreciative. The time spent away from home also stirred up in me my desire to travel. I love going to new and exciting places! And honestly, I really can’t see myself settling down in one place for very long. As soon as I’m done with school, I want to be on the go a lot. It is something I have always wanted. I’m a go getter. I like to be challenged and when situations and circumstances are no longer challenging, I figure it is time to move on. Oh…I’m a dreamer as well. I have so many things I want to do. The phrase ‘One of these days’ is constantly running through my head because, one of these days I will do all that I have set my mind to.
